It was built by then-owner Beryl Cowling, who commissioned Dutch sculptor Ben Van Zetten to design and construct it in 1988.
The Koala is 14 metres high and weighs 12 tons. It is made of bronze set on a steel frame.
It was advertised for sale on ebay in 2014.
