Již v dobe predhusitské získala Bystrice jedno z významných mestských práv-právo hrdelní ci kriminální. Popravy v Bystrici se vykonávaly na nedalekém kopci, který se jmenoval Šibenná hora, byl prý to holý vrch, zámerne z toho duvodu, aby po vykonané exekuci, kterou ciníval kat z Policky, byla tela obešencu daleko videt.

Already in pre-Hussite period the town of Bystrice won one of the major municipal rights - "throat" or criminal law. Executions in Bystrice were performed on a nearby hill named Šibenná (Gillow) mountain. It was a bare hill so the reason to chose this place was that the bodies of the hanged were seen from far away.
