(fr) Ce moulin à vent participe à l’attrait touristique de cette ville. Authentique moulin cavier, il s’agit d’un type de moulin rare et particulier, dont très peu sont ouverts au public (5 environ en France).

Il avait vocation à moudre le grain. Telle était sa fonction première, mais en ce lieu le meunier exerçait un 2ème métier, celui de vigneron, c'est pourquoi il se nomme moulin cavier. Sa structure se décompose en 3 parties qui sont:

- la masse

- le massereau

- la hucherolle



La masse correspond à la base d'un diamètre de 14 mètres où se trouve 4 caves voutées construites en tuffeau.


Les moulins cavier implantés dans une région où les vents soufflaient assez peu étaient conçus pour permettre cette double activité professionnelle: meunier et vigneron.


Envahi par les ronces et taillis, la ruine de ce moulin, dont il ne restait plus que le massereau, est acquis par la ville de Bléré en 2003 suite à l’engagement sur ce projet d’un adjoint (Régis Chauvel, fondateur de notre association) qui édifie un solide dossier pour faire revivre un patrimoine historique communal ignoré de beaucoup de Blérois.


Ouvert au public depuis juin 2009, ce moulin a retrouvé sa structure d’avant et, certains jours de vent, il n’est pas surprenant de voir ses ailes blanches tourner, car à l’intérieur s’activent les meuniers à reproduire cette farine d’antan.

(eng)This windmill is involved in the tourist attraction of the city. Authentic Cavier mill, it is a rare type of mill and especially, very few are open to the public (about 5 in France).

It was intended to grind grain. Such was its primary function, but in this place sucker exercised second profession as a winemaker, which is why it is called Cavier mill. Its structure is divided into three parts which are:

- The mass

- The massereau

The mass is the basis of a diameter of 14 meters which is 4 vaulted cellars built in limestone.


The Cavier mills located in a region where the winds were quite a few were designed to allow this dual occupation: miller and winemaker.


Overgrown with brambles and thickets, the ruin of the mill, there remained the massereau, was acquired by the city of Bléré in 2003 following the commitment on the project of an assistant (Régis Chauvel, founder of our association) that builds a strong case for reviving communal historical heritage of many Blérois ignored.


Open to the public since June 2009, the mill has been restored to its prior structure and some windy days, it is not surprising to see his white wings rotate, because inside are activated millers to reproduce this flour of yesteryear.
