Fr:Au XIXè siècle a été construit un tunnel de 800 mètres de long en amont de Langeais, il passe sous la colline du château et il débouche en aval de la Ville dans la Loire.
Il évacue le trop plein des eaux de la Roumer et permet d’éviter les inondations de la ville de Langeais.
