The memorial to the Queensland Police is part of the Memorial Gardens located just beside the Cenotaph on the Cairns Esplanade.

The memorial commemorates members of the Queensland Police who have died or been killed whilst undertaking their duties.
The Memorial Gardens were created to acknowledge the valuable contribution made by volunteers, emergency service works and military service men and women. The Memorial Flame artwork situated at the northern extremity of the Memorial Gardens, has been placed in remembrance of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of their duties.
The inscription reads
"Queensland Police Service
This plaque is dedicated to Queensland Police Officers who have served the communities of Far North Queensland since 1864.
In particular, we remember those Police Officers who gave their lives whilst working to protect and serve these communities. We pay tribute to their enduring courage, strength and true sense of community, duty and commitment.
