"Esta aldea de gran varlor etnográfico, fue en su día un gran centro de comunicaciónes, por donde transcurría el "camino real a Castilla", lugar donde cruzaban el MIño las barcas para transporte de personas y mercancias (de ahí el nombre de la aldea). Tipo de personas, de direferentes oficios y gremios, con sus mercancias tenian que pasar por este punto para poder cruzar el Miño, lo cual significaba que el pueblo contaba con un flujo de transeúntes que aportaban al mismo dinamismo económico y cultural, dotando de una vitalidad inusual en entorno.

Con la construcción del embalse de Frieira en los años 50 y el incremente del niver el agua, al anegarse los terrenos, lo cual motivó la compra del pueblo por Unión Fenosa, sumando al hecho del cambio en las comunicaciones por la construcción de puentes y cambios de vías, el pueblo fue abandonado con el tiempo.

Dicha aldea, con restos importantes casas en piedra, fuentes, puentes..., se encuentra a dia de hoy en estado de abandono, por ello se propone su rehabilitación para crear un pueblo ambiental, una nueva explotación turística y de ocio.

Hay un total de 12 edificaciones casi todas independientes entre si, de las que se conservan las fachadas de piedra."

Type of persons, of direferentes trades and unions, with his goods tenian that to spend for this point to be able to cross the Miño, which was meaning that the people was relying on a transients' flow that they were reaching to the same economic and cultural dynamism, providing with an unusual vitality in environment.

With the construction of Frieira's reservoir in the 50s and increase of the niver the water, when drowns the areas, which motivated the purchase of the people for Union Fenosa, adding up to the fact of the change in the communications for the construction of bridges and changes of routes, the people it was left by the time.

The above mentioned village, important remains you marry in stone, sources, bridges ..., he is a today in condition of abandon, for it one proposes his rehabilitation to create an environmental village, a new tourist exploitation and of leisure.

There is a total of 12 buildings almost all the independent ones between if, of that the fronts of stone remain.
