The floods are caused by the flood of the Indre. These phenomena are common in winter. In the valley flood plain of the Indre reaches 500m wide.
Following the historic floods of December 1982 and January 1983, seven municipalities in the Indre Valley decided to band together to fight against floods by making restoration and maintenance operations on the riverbed of the Indre.
