This globe is the centerpiece of an exhibit called "Harzer Urgesteine" (Harz Primary Rocks). The exhibit shows the three main rock formations forming the Harz Mountains, Granite, Diabas and Gabbro.

It is located near the Torfhaus Visitor Center in Harz National Park in Lower Saxony, Germany.
