Le 7 novembre 1997 à été posé en ce lieu la 1ere pierre de l'ensemble administatif Niortais, constitué de l'hotel administraif et des maisons communales. La "pose" a été réalisée par me maire de Niort de l'époque Bernard Bellec et le ministre de la fonction publique Emile Zuccarelli.
