Rose Garden - Castolovice, Czech Republic - Rose Gardens on Waymarking.com

Castolovice is beautiful Renaissance chäteau from the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, adapted in the 19th and 20th centuries. Inside a family gallery of the Šternberks and a gallery of the Czech rulers. The chäteau is surrounded by an English park.

Since 1994 there are planting old-fashioned roses in the park. Most of them have come from abroad. There are more than 150 varieties, all of which are indentified. The old-fashioned roses bloom only once a year. The best time to visit the Rosarium in Castolovice is the end of May or at the beginning of June, when roses are at their best.
