A large coat-of-arms of the Town of St. George is the central motif of the Town Hall in St. George, Bermuda. The coat-of arms reflects the town's history.
The central portion is a shield with the red cross of St. George superimposed on wavy blue lines representing the sea. On top of the shield is a helmet, representing St. George, and crown resembling the fortress that defend the Town of St. George. Above the crown is a the Ship the Sea Venture which was purposely foundered on a reef to by Admiral Sir George Somers to prevent it from sinking and to save his passengers and crew. Admiral Sir George Somers is the founder of the Town of St. George. To the left and right of the shield are the British lion and unicorn modified with dragon wings and the lower bodies of mermaids. On the banner below is the motto: a towne antient and loyall, using the archaic spelling of the words: town, ancient, loyal.
