This large, preserved millstone shares the parking lot with the Lion-sur-Mer World War II monument. This parking lot and the memorial are fairly new, probably installed for the 70th Anniversary of the D-Day invasions (1944-2014), and there is not yet any information provided regarding the millstone.
The location is at the intersection of D514 where it changes from the Boulevard Anatole France through Lion-sur-Mer to become the Route de Lyon to Luc-sur-Mer. This area is bounded on one side by Sword Beach, another by the city development and the final side is agricultural land.
