The latitude and longitude
was confirmed in 1836 by
Captain R. Owen, R. N. of H. M. S.
THUNDER. The measurement
was incorporated into
Bermuda law on the 8th of
November, 1929, making
Bermuda time four hours
behind Greenwich Mean Time,
the international standard for
navigational purposes.
