This tail section is all that remains of B-52E tail number 56-0637. Originally it was flown to Andersen AFB to be converted to the next generation of B-52 but was subsequently dropped from inventory due to excessive wear and tear. From then on it was permanently parked on the tarmac as a fire and rescue trainer.

On May 21, 1976, Typhoon Pamela struck Guam with devastating force. With winds at 150+ MPH, the original airframe was tipped over on its top and the tail section resting next to it was drug 800FT into the jungle. It wouldn't be until 1997 when it was rediscovered after Super Typhoon Paka tore up enough trees to reveal the missing tail section which was mistakenly believed to be Old 100(TS: 55-0100) which had flown 5,000 hours of combat missions over Vietnam.

Since 1999, Boy Scout Troop 20 has taken custodial duties over this bygone relic and has preserved it ever since.
