Diese beiden roten Stahlkirschen wurden 2011 im Rahmen der Aktion "Bingen 2011, Skulpturen am Rheinkilometer 529" hier aufgestellt. Die meisten der Skulpturen von damals wurden inzwischen wieder abgebaut, diese hier blieb.
Wenn man durch die Kirschen hindurch schaut, kann man über den Rhein hinweg das Niederwalddenkmal und die Germania sehen.

The sculpture of the two cherries were made in 2011 for "Bingen 2011, Skulpturen am Rheinkilometer 529". A lot of famous artists have installed sculptures on the Rhine bank. Some of them are rebuilded, some are still here.
If you look through the cherries, you can see on the opposite Rhine side the "Niederwalddenkmal" with Germania, one of the most biggest and most famous historical monument in Germany.
