A plesiosaur? A giant eel? An unknown type of seal? Or just pine logs, blobs of algae or boat wakes?
There is an abundance of theories to explain the strange monster sightings at Loch Ness, some of them dating back to the 6th century. In modern times, monster sightings started to be reported in 1933, and a lot of more or less scientific research to find the monster has been carried out since. Some of the evidence has been revealed as hoaxes since, others, including sonar and underwater sound recordings, have not yet been conclusively explained until today.

So here is another of those stories:
When we visited Urquhart Castle, it was heavily raining, so only few tourists were around. Relying on our raincoats, we explored the castle grounds nevertheless. I had just stopped to take a look at the landscape when I suddenly noticed Nessie sticking its head out of the water. Dumbstruck, I fumbled to get my camera, but when I finally got it, the monster had just disappeared and all we got on the photo is its wake. I added this photo to the gallery to convince you that this story of course is absolutely true! ;-)
The coordinates point to the appoximate location of our Nessie sighting.
