The pedestrian scramble in front of Shibuya station in Tokyo is said to be the busiest pedestrian crossing in the world. At peak times, up to 15,000 people cross it during one cycle (2 min). This this entire population of a small town.
There are also several huge advertising screens on the surrounding buildings, adding more "business".
