The temple was founded in 1282 to honour those of who died during the preceeding war, a Mongolian-Korean invasion, on both sides.
It is a large complex with several buildings and structures, with altogether 18 temples on the side. Interesting is also a great temple bell on public display.
For visitors, there is an admission fee.
