This fountain, Vasabrunnen (or Vasa's well) was completed in 1926 and is by the sculptor Nils Sjögren. It stands in
Larmtorget in Kalmar
The panels display scenes depicting the rise to power of Gustav I of Sweden, known as Gustav Vasa, who led the rebellion
in 1523 which resulted in Sweden breaking away from the Kalmar Union of Denmark, Sweden and Norway which had been
established in 1397.
