This old sand quarry has been abandoned for over 50 years. A public road runs right beside the entire length. Pull over near any of the access openings and get your gear out. Water flows through the sand from the Mississippi River nearby so the water level rises and falls with the river.
Bass and sunfish are the two main fish to be found here. We have caught 3 lb bass and 1 lb sunfish here ocassionally in the past. We've even caught them through the ice in the winter.
The South and North ends of the lake get pretty shallow, but the rest of the shoreline is fishable.
