Around the turn of the millennium, Centre Street Church was quickly outgrowing its previous location a few blocks away on Centre Street. They were no longer able to house the entire congregation for Sunday services, and began to look for room to expand. A nearby vacant 17-acre drive-in movie theatre became available and, once they were able to raise enough money, they purchased the lot and began planning the expansion.

The result is the current 120,000-square-foot megachurch, which opened in March 2004 and measures approximately 400 feet by 280 feet. The main auditorium can hold 2400 worshippers and there's enough space to seat 700 people at a fellowship supper. The entire property - which includes 982 parking spaces with room to expand - spans a little more than one block east-west and three blocks north-south. There are three entrances to the building, with one on each of the east, west, and south sides.

Centre Street Church belongs to the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada denomination, which was formed in 1993 when the Evangelical Church in Canada and Missionary Church of Canada merged.

The average weekly attendance at the church is roughly 7000, making it, by some accounts, the second largest church in Canada and without a doubt the largest congregation in the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada. Four services are held on weekends: one on Saturday and three on Sunday. The current lead pastor is Kent Priebe.
