This propeller was salvaged from the Caesarea II after it struck a rock off the coast of Jersey.

During museum opening hours a small information board about the shipwerck is left alongside the propeller.

the Caesarea II

Built in 1910 in Birkenhead by
Cammel Laird & Co Ltd.

She struck a rock off Noirmont point on the south
coast of Jersey on 7 July 1923, ripping off one of
her three propellers.

Although she was badly damaged, she was put
ashore outside St. Helier harbour and was repaired
by comapny engineers and re-floated on the 20
Jul 1923. She was towed by tug to Southampton,
and put in a dry dock. It was then decided not to
repair her.

She was sold onto the Isle of Man Shipping Co.

She was eventually broken up in 1950.
