A Sequoia in Quebec ? YES!
Have a walk in the beautiful Mount Royal Cemetery and near the Ernest Henry Wilson monument, you will find this rare tree in Montreal, a Metasequoia glyptostroboides.
It was planted by Henry Teuscher in 1949 in memory of Ernest Henry Wilson. It is located near the North entrance of the cemetery.
Ernest Henry Wilson was the keeper of the Arnold Arboretum at Harvard University. He died in 1930.
Because of the Quebec climate, this sequoia will not grow high but it spreads around like a shrub.
The tree is healthy and touch the leaves, they are so soft!
