Am Gedenktag der Reformation 1894 wurde die Friedenskirche als Versammlungsort der seit 1858 in Oldenburg bestehenden evangelisch-methodistischen Gemeinde eingeweiht.
Die Kirche steht, entworfen vom Architekten Spieske im neogotischen Stil, an der Westseite des Friedensplatzes in exponierter Lage. Der Kirchensaal befindet sich im 1. OG und ihr Turm hat eine Höhe vom 35 Metern.
On Reformation Day 1894, the Friedenskirche was consecrated as assembly hall of the since 1858 in Oldenburg existing United Methodist Church.
The church stands, designed by the architect Spieske in neo-Gothic style, on the west side of the Friedensplatz in a prominent location. The church hall is located on the 1st floor and its tower has a height of 35 meters.
