2014 Schedule - July 10-13, 2014

Kinsmen Cornwall Lift-Off is currently the only Hot Air Balloon Festival in the province of Ontario and is a not-for-profit organization. The festival features a variety of hot air balloons, flying each morning and evening at approximately 6:30 am and 6:30 pm (depending on weather and winds) for a total of 6 possible viewing opportunities over the 4 days. Attendees are able to get a bird’s eye view of the inflation and boarding process at the launch site or alternate launch site which us located near by in St. Andrews.

Spectators at Lamoureux Park can take the lauch location guessing game out of it, to some extent. At the west end of the launch site, near the passenger registration table, there's a flagpole, and the flag colour tells a story: green means it's a go from Lamoureux Park, and yellow means things are yet to be determined. A red flag means a cancellation, and pink indicates a venue switch to St. Andrews.

Festival attendees are able to purchase balloon rides which can last anywhere from 20 to 90 minutes, depending on direction and speed of prevailing winds, and optimum landing opportunities. Total flight time including balloon preparation and retrieval can be up to three hours.

The Festival has quickly become the most important hot air balloon gathering in Ontario and is an extremely popular festival in Eastern Ontario.

There are a range of additional activities offered. Homeniuk Carnival operates throughout the day and evening during the entire festival.

Lamoureux Park is a beautiful waterfront park with a wonderful open air Bandshell perfect for musical entertainment and concerts. Lift-Off takes complete advantage of this facility featuring entertainment throughout the afternoon and evening through to 11 pm.

During the festival, there are a number of additional activities such as a free Pancake Breakfast, Pilot Farewell Brunch, and various activities for children. Lamoureux Park is populated during the festival by many vendors who line the park, offering products and food and drink.
