The fountain is dedicated to local historic person, Ferdinand Ceccaldi called also Fiorello (*1802 - †1869), physician and General of the armies of the Emperor Napoleon III, commander of Girolata fort. He was also the surgeon general of French military health services, chief physician of the hospital of Constantine (Algeria) in 1841-1851 and died in Evisa in 1869. The bust is work of sculptor J. Mariotti from 1963.
