Two columns in Venice are replicated here in front of the Venetian Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Both have statues of Venice's patron saints.

The Hotel replicates St.Mark's Square...and the original of this column and sculpture are found there. Everyone agrees that the statue atop the column depicts St. Theodore... but which St. Theodore? See Wikipedia's article about Theodore of Amasea (

The other column in Venice and also replicated here is the more famous St. Mark's Column. St. Theodore was the patron saint of Venice before St. Mark took the title.
