Lookout tower by lake Neusiedlersee near small town Illmitz serves mostly for birdwatchers since 1994, when renovated by Rotary International. Tower is 16 metres high with observatory platform in level 6.5 metres above ground.

Lookout tower (orig. Aussichtsturm) near Illmitz, Neusiedlersee and Seewinkel National Park, Austria

On eastern shore of lake Neusiedlersee, near small town Illmitz, can be visited this tower with steel construction. It is 16 metres high lookout tower, till 1993 served for Hungarian army as watchtower on border - part of an Iron Curtain.

After its demolition it has been reconstructed in June 1994 by District 1910 of Rotary International organization. Today, lookout tower serves especially for birdwatching from its platform 6 and half metres above ground.
