The T&G Builing was built for the T & G Mutual Life Assurance Society from June 1933 and was completed in 1934, while Geelong was still suffering the effects of the Great Depression. It costed 37,000 pounds ($74,000)
After renovation in the late 2000's, the old T&G got a new lease of life with the upper floors of the building rented out for offices. The street level became home to a boutique, a travel agent and two coffee shops while the basement houses a nightclub
