From the trail head first go down to the cliffs along the ocean. Then turn around and head up the hill. The trail is along bare rock at times and you follow paint marks. At the plaque turn right to follow the bottom of the cliffs.
This trail requires rock scrambling at times and is also marked with paint lines. The trail will take you along an ancinet sea cliff like the ones you can see at the ocean now. It leads under slabs that make arches and tunnels and beside shallow caves.
When it meets another trail turn left and head back down the hill to the parking. This part of the trail is along the top of the cliffs. Be sure to look backward and to the east to see some great views of Great Head and Sand Beach.
