"The parish church of Sts. Philip and James is a Roman Catholic church in Schoppernau trail in the Bregenz Forest. The parish church is centered in the city on a hill and is surrounded by a walled cemetery.
When beginning the year 1500 is for the erection of a chapel and the year 1504 as a parsonage and branch of Au known. After the construction of a new church in 1682 Schoppernau was, by decree dated December 5, 1682 the Bishop of Constance collected for independent parish. The present parish church consists of a Baroque nave with recessed choir under one roof with a church tower in the north with onion dome and to the east of the tower grown sacristy under a shed roof, and was built by architect Josef Brenner in 1710 and consecrated in 1717. The church was the first organ with 14 registers of Severin Eckart v. Stiefenhofen in 1838. 1891 created an organ builder Anton Behmann of Schwarzach a new mechanical organ with 11 registers. The present organ with 26 registers from Rieger organ building is from the year 1981. The carvings on the organ and the design and execution of the gallery balustrade was made ??by Kaspar fields.
