The old Bonaventure
Waterworks and Garden

Two Rumsey Triplex pumps were installed by The Evergreen Cemetery Co. in 1905. Following an explosion of one of these pumps, the city of Savannah placed a sterling deep well turbine pump on the site in 1934. This operated until the cemetery was connected to the Savannah water system.

The area was cleared in 1998 and is maintained by the Bonaventure Historical Society.
