O corpo mais baixo, de planta rectangular, tem três vãos na fachada mais pequena, voltada para o porto, e cinco na que fica voltada para a Travessa do Borratem. Um destes últimos vãos é uma porta sobrepujada com ornamentos geometrizados, em cantaria, enquanto os restantes, em ambas as fachadas, são janelas de peito quadrangulares. Sobre os três vãos da fachada mais pequena lê-se "CAPITANIA DO PORTO DA HORTA".
O corpo de dois pisos, voltado para o porto, tem na fachada três vãos muito altos, com remate em arco de volta perfeita, sob os quais se encontra a porta da cave.
O corpo mais baixo está recuado em relação ao outro, deixando espaço para a torre e para a escadaria de acesso à entrada principal que se situa na face da torre perpendicular ao plano das fachadas voltadas para o porto. Na outra face a torre mostra um óculo ao nível da entrada e um relógio ao cimo. Em cima da entrada principal existe uma pedra trabalhada com o escudo nacional e, mais acima, três frestas ao lado de um suporte de mastro de bandeira.
O imóvel é rebocado e pintado de branco, com as molduras dos vãos, ornamentos e rebordo superior em cantaria à vista."

The lower body, with a rectangular plan, has three spans in smaller façade, facing the harbor, and five in which faces the Serving of Borratem. The building is plastered and painted white, with the frames of the openings, and upper lip ornaments in stone in sight."
