Der Erfinder Johann Wilhelm Ludowici (1896 – 1983) sorgte für Innovationen bei der Konstruktion und Produktion der Falzziegel und brachte den Betrieb in eine Vorreiterrolle in Europa. Mit seinem Erfindungsreichtum entwarf er zahlreiche Konstruktionen und Organisationsmodelle auch außerhalb der Ziegelfertigung. Seine Ideen waren jedoch ihrer Zeit häufig weit voraus oder zu ungewohnt, um sich wirtschaftlich erfolgreich durchzusetzen.
Diese Facette von Ludowicis Schaffen repräsentiert das Kugelhaus. In den Fünfzigerjahren des 20. Jahrhunderts erdacht, sorgte es zunächst weltweit für Aufsehen und geriet dann in Vergessenheit. Ein Exemplar wurde vom Förderverein Ziegeleimuseum im Jahr 2002 restauriert und gehört seit März 2003 zur Dauerausstellung des Museums. Es ist im Außenbereich in der Nähe des Bürgerhauses aufgestellt.
Das Kugelhaus besteht aus Metall und hat einen Durchmesser von 4,50 Metern. In der Originalausstattung enthielt es alles, was für einen Zwei-Personen-Haushalt erforderlich war. Ludowici hatte sich vorgestellt, Kugelhäuser in Serie zu fertigen und dann per LKW, Schiff oder Hubschrauber an jeden gewünschten Standort zu transportieren.

The inventor Johann Wilhelm Ludowici (1896 - 1983) made ??for innovation in the design and production of interlocking tiles and brought the operation into a pioneering role in Europe . With his ingenuity , he designed a number of structures and organizational models outside the brick manufacturing. However, his ideas were often far ahead of their time or too unfamiliar , to prevail economically successful.
This facet of Ludowicis work represents the ball home . In the fifties of the 20th Century thought , it initially caused a worldwide sensation , and then fell into oblivion. A copy has been restored by the Friends Brickworks Museum in 2002 , and was appointed in March 2003 to the permanent exhibition of the museum. It is situated in the outside area near the community center .
The ball house is made of metal and has a diameter of 4.50 meters. In the original equipment it contained everything that was needed for a two -person household . Ludowici had imagined to manufacture ball Houses in series and then to transport any desired location by truck, ship or helicopter.
