CONVENTO DOS MONGES OR DE N. SR.A DO CASTELO DAS COVAS DE MONFURADO

Located in Serra do Monfurado, this male convent was founded in the XVIIIth Century by a group of eremits that lived in caves nearby.
The land for the construction fo the building was donated by a rich farmer named João de Vila lobos e Vasconcelos, who was a big admirer of the monks.

This conevnt was extinct in 1834.
