A 265-acre park that resides in Jamaica Plain, a sub-section of Boston. This park is one of the key features in the
Emerald Necklace park system of Boston. The arboretum is owned by the City of Boston, but remains on long-term lease to Harvard University since the Indenture of Trust of 1872 that created the arboretum.
Special emphasis is placed on plants of Asia and New England within the Arboretum.
The arboretum is open sunrise to sundown, 365 days a year. The waypoint is located in the Visitor Center parking lot, but there is street parking available around the perimeter of the park and at a few of the other entrances as well. You can also reach the grounds from the MBTA Orange Line
Forest Hills station.
