The press started being used in Silver City, Idaho, to print The Owyhee Avalanche, soon after it was made. In 1883, the press was sold to the Caldwell Tribune. An unfortunate event happened, when the press was being taken across the Snake River on a ferry, which had the press at the bottom of the river. Recovery took much time and effort.
After working in Caldwell, the press was sold to the Wilder Herald in Wilder, ID. When WWII started, the Wilder Herald was printed in Homedale and press was moved to its current position and has been on display since then.
