The National Railway Museum has over 300 locomotives and carriages, many are iconic trains. This turntable is used to move the engines around that are exhibited in the Worlds largest railway museum.

The turntable is in the centre of the Great Hall, with stall tracks radiating around its entire circumference. The turntable is in use daily.

The Turntable was built in its current location in 1954 to turn Locomotives around at the end of their journeys, The locos were then stabled in the great hall.
