Musée des Équipages - Maincy, France - Carriages and Coaches on Permanent Display on Waymarking.com

The Musée des Équipages is a Horse and Carriage Museum located at the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte in Maincy. Just beyond the ticket desks, large stables showcase beautiful antique carriages with all their equipment. It includes coaches and carriages, teams of harnessed horses, coachmen, footmen and other passengers that revive the art of master coachbuilders. The carriages are presented within a city, countryside and hunting-themed décor. One can see the replica of a Roman chariot, a Calèche Wourch, a Demi-Mail Phaeton, a Spider Phaeton, among others. Our default picture shows a 19th Century replica of the marble Roman chariot on display at the Carriage Pavilion of the Vatican.

The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte is a baroque French château located in Maincy in the Seine-et-Marne département of France. It was built from 1658 to 1661 for Nicolas Fouquet the superintendent of finances of Louis XIV.
