This hostel has great accessibility, located not far from the center (about 1.500 m), close to the metro network (Campo 24 de Agosto station) and to the main train station (Campanhã).
The nearby neighborhood is a bit poor, but the hostel building was properly renovated.

Justification for Recommendation:
I arrived in Porto in a rainy day but it was no problem to walk to the hostel from the metro station 24 de Agosto (directly from the airport). About 500 m.
It was close to midnight but the staff was great and VERY friendly. Great atmosphere, loved the decoration. Quite (OK it was off season). All I would expect in a good hostel was found there. The breakfast was quite a surprise. By far the best breakfast ever in a hostel... and all of this for 8 Eur!
