This sledgepress is from 1955 and is of the same kind as the machines that were introduced around 1870 for producing machine made roof tiles.
It is a stamppress with upper and lower form where claypaste was pressed into a roof tile.
Around 1900 a new type of press was developed, a revolving press. Since then this kind of press was only used for frost tiles and facade tiles.
