[PT] Fortificação localizada no monte da Graça cuja construção se iniciou em 1763 e terminou em 1792.
Os reclusos eram normalmente militares que cometiam crimes de desobediência.
As penas aplicadas iam de seis meses a dois anos.
Durante este período os chamados incorporados, ou reclusos, realizavam também trabalhos na área da serralharia ou carpintaria.
O forte é uma obra-prima da arquitectura militar europeia do século XVIII, tanto pela originalidade das soluções aí apresentadas, como pela sua monumentalidade.
Em 2012 esta fortificação foi classificada como Património Mundial da UNESCO.
