Although the area encompasses a small segment of retail trade, the majority is comprised of single- and multi-family housing.
This fire station was re-built in 2010 using funds from TVFR's voter-approved bond. The old fire station did not meet current ADA or seismic standards and the old location resulted in delayed response times as crews had to circle the block to access Highway 43.
The new station’s orientation and setup means crews response times have been cut by at least 30 secondsfor each call. The building has space to store more critical fire apparatus, and includes a community room available for local non-profit organizations to use.
