This lighthouse is located on the boardwalk (malecon) in old Puerta Vallarta.
A plaque at the site, translated into English, reads:
"Beacon track line opened on August 15, 1932. During the day service was a sign of black and white bars. At night using a beacon diopter with acetylene equipment. Hundred and ninety-three meters of this point there is another Beacon on the road of Matamoros. Both completed their service to vessels entering the port in operation at the estuary of El Salado, 20 August 1970.
