Der Herthasee ist ein künstlicher angelegter See in der Nähe von Holzappel. Früher wurde er als Wasserversorgung des Bergbaus der Region genutzt. Heute ist er ein Naherholungsgebiet.
Die Infotafel zeigt verschiedene Tiere, die im und am Herthasee leben. Detaillierte wird dabei auf Fledermäuse und Erdköten eingegangen.

The Hertasee ("lake Hertha") is an artificial lake located nearby the village of Holzappel. It was original used as a water supply for the local mines, but is today a swimming lake and recreational area.
The info board shows a number of animals which live at and in the lake. Detailed information is provided on toads and bats.
