When one wants to get away from the bustle of Pattaya, and the crowded beaches of Jontiem, just head a few miles further south to Ban Amphur Beach. There are many seafood restaurants to choose from, and outdoor tables under the palms to enjoy fresh coconut -- the perfect place to chill out. The sand is a bit coarse here, but still pleasant. Across the street is a small municipal park.
The most distinctive restaurant is the Pra-Pa-Karn with its blue and white lighthouse design. The interior is spacious and the food quality rated as the best, with typical attentive Thai service.
