Tsitsikamma Park is renowned for its natural beauty, being endowed with magnificent forests, deep ravines, towering mountain ranges and the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. The word “Tsitsikamma” is a San word that means “place of abundant waters”, testifying to the lush abundance of this very special part of the Garden Route.
Hiking through the forests and mountains is a way to get the most out of your time in Storms River. The Mouth trail to get to the picturesque suspension bridge is one of the shorter hikes of this part of the National park. It is a well maintained boardwalk about one kilometre hike up and down steps. Informative pannels, magnificent trees and flowers and cute dassies (hyraxes) are among the things to see along the trail. Near the suspension bridge two smaller foot bridges have been added recently and form a circular route with the 77m (253ft) long suspension bridge.
