Taupo Wake Park, formerly known as Anarchy Boarding Park.... operates a Cable Boarding Park on a man made lake in the Wairakei Tourist Park area, just north of Taupo. It is New Zealand's first commercially-run cable park open to the public.

The new Cable park is located 10 minutes out of Taupo in the Wairakei Tourist Park down a long driveway, beside the Waikato River near the Prawn Park. Turn into Karetoto Road and follow the signposts.
Anarchy Boarding Park celebrated its opening on Saturday, November 16, 2013, with a full-on open day attended by a large crowd of interested spectators who enjoyed demonstrations by professional wakeboarders. First-timers and experienced wakeboarders were also able to hop on a board and try out this exciting new tourist attraction for the first time.

Cable Wakeboarding, Taupo, NZ We have been operating in a man made lake beside the Waikato River. Our cable system is run by an electric motor, a cable runs between 2 towers with a ski handle pulling you. This becomes a big continuous figure 8 course. Whether you are a wakeboarder, skier, snowboarder or Kite Boarder you can ride our cable exactly like riding behind a boat, kite or snow but easier, just drive down and ride.
Our Cable system is not weather dependent because of our well formed pond we don't see the chop from the wind. Rain or Shine we can get anyone up riding like a pro.
We have perfected the art of teaching any willing participant how to wakeboard. We have lesson Packages that include Gear hire, everything you need to get out on the water, enough time to get you wakeboarding also the added bonus of radio helmets. So not only do we teach you before you get in the water, we can also teach you in the water. Once anyone has done this lesson they have the wakeboarding skill for life. We start as young as 5 depending on their water skills up to as I said any willing participant, our oldest student so far has been 75 years young.
