Of the thousands of hitching posts that once lined the streets of Victoria in the 1800s and the early 1900s, only three remain. This one, the only remaining post made of granite, stands on the side of Rockland Avenue. It consists of a simple rough-hewn, slightly-tapered granite post with an iron ring set vertically in the top. The ring has corroded over time and is no longer whole.
