Prachatice is a regional capital in the mountain headland of Šumava. The city is, thanks to several historical buildings, under historical protection.

This is a three-storey building with a hipped roof. The main facade is highlighted by a short narrow wings protruding into the square with arcades on the ground floor and three bays on the corbels in the level floor. The facade is decorated with wings accent kvádríkovou painting on the front bay windows in the parapet of a circular medallion with painted Rosenberg rider. Under the right window is preserved fragment of inscription Reconstruction Jirík Bozkovským 1573.
The first documented owner was in 1551, George Jancek. Between 1571 - 1598 the house was owned by the family of a salt merchant, Prachatice magistrate and later governor of George Bozkovský of Bozkovice, which earned him marrying Apollonia Tekynarovou. In the seventies of the 16th century, craftsmen adapted house according to the former trend. An interesting note is preserved in the arcade of the house where the painter said, "is painted, but not paid." In 1598 the house was sold for 450 Meissen groschen Stephen Petrhanzlovi and then often changed owners. When a disastrous fire of 13 April 1832 was a great damage to the house. In 1868, he was again rebuilt. In the years 1882 - 1885 it housed the Czech school.
The ground floor is operated patisserie and café, space on the first floor is used as a ceremonial hall and Cultural Center Otto Herbert Hajek is a permanent exhibition of works by world-renowned modern sculptor and painter.
On the top floor are the apartments.
